Work Smarter, Not Harder

Introducing my first educational video series, where I confront many of the most common issues we face in the art of percussion performance

and provide innovative solutions based on personal experiences.

COVID-19 Pad Series

During this unfortunate pandemic, I've had time to gather some new thoughts. I started a video series to share on various social media platforms with the goal of promoting creativity and innovation during a troubling time

in which many percussionists find themselves limited to only a drum pad.

Enjoy!!!

ABOUT ME

I am currently a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The Florida State University, where I am pursuing the D.M. degree in Percussion Performance under the tutelage of Dr. John W. Parks IV. Prior to arriving at FSU, I completed the Bachelor's degree in Music Education at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, where I studied with Dr. Tommy Dobbs, and the M.M. degree in Percussion Performance at Florida State University.

I have an innate passion for teaching music. I taught for 5 years in public schools throughout Fort Smith while completing my undergraduate degree, and currently teach the freshman percussion students here at FSU. If you have time, feel free to take a look at the Teaching column below. There you'll find my current teaching philosophy as well as my teaching portfolio submitted for the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award I was recently nominated for.

My current projects include developing my first video series, creating in-depth study guides for standard solo repertoire books, and mastering the art of recording engineering. I recently began a new position as a video editor at Rhythm Monster Inc, a massive resource for learning Scottish Pipe Band Drumming.

Below, you'll find links to a variety of video series I've produced, a selection of performance

recordings, as well as a few videos of my students performing.

Enjoy!

Teaching

Aside from playing, my true passion is and will always be teaching music.

I believe that the truest evaluation of a teacher is student success. I've posted a few videos below of my students performing, as well as a hyperlink to professional documents including my curriculum vitae, teaching philosophy and my teaching portfolio recently submitted in nomination for the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award at FSU.
